The Thrive ADHD
Coaching Process

Complimentary Consultation
The first step in our partnership involves an initial (complimentary) 30-minute virtual consultation. During this session, prospective clients have the opportunity to ask questions and familiarize themselves with the coaching process. We also briefly discuss the challenges clients are currently experiencing. This meeting serves as a chance for both the client and coach to establish rapport and assess whether continuing with coaching is the right fit.

Select Coaching Package
If the client decides to proceed following the complimentary consultation, they will choose the coaching package that aligns best with their needs from several options. Each package includes weekly coaching sessions, which can be scheduled at the client's convenience using our online booking system. Once the client has selected a package and made an initial payment, they will be asked to sign a coaching agreement form and schedule the 90-minute Intake and Planning session (included in all coaching packages).

Intake & Planning Session
After selecting a coaching package, the next step is to schedule the 90-minute Intake & Planning session. This session serves as a collaborative discussion aimed at crafting a tailored coaching plan to address the client’s unique challenges and goals. The process involves assessing the client’s learning styles, understanding how they currently manage ADHD symptoms, and exploring their aspirations and obstacles. Additionally, clients will complete an assessment of their executive function skills and personal strengths, enabling the coach to offer specific resources and support throughout the coaching journey.

Coaching Partnership
Following the Intake and Planning session, the client and coach will begin weekly coaching sessions. Throughout the coaching partnership, the coach encourages self-reflection to develop strategies for overcoming challenges incrementally. Common session topics include study strategies, stress reduction, emotional regulation, organization and planning, mental health enhancement, improving relationships, and time management, though everyone with ADHD is different and the client will always be in control of the focus during sessions. During and after coaching sessions, the coach provides tailored resources and strategies to address the client’s specific challenges.

As the end of the coaching package approaches, clients will be invited to evaluate their progress toward their goals and decide whether they wish to continue with coaching. If they opt to continue, clients have the flexibility to either maintain weekly sessions or transition to a maintenance package with sessions every other week. Many clients choose to continue weekly ADHD coaching throughout a full semester before shifting to a maintenance phase of twice-monthly meetings. Some clients may find that they have achieved sufficient progress after the duration of a coaching package and are ready to continue their growth independently, without ongoing coaching support. Ultimately, fostering client autonomy and independence is the overarching aim of ADHD coaching.
